Apologies taht my reply isn't likely to be at all helpful to your particular client but I saw the new yet on sale Olympus DM5 yesterday which has lots of excellent access features. It's been co developed with rnib and rnid so has good features for both VI and Ddeaf users but has a very well structured interface, and is also a reasonably comprehensive media playback device too so could be a good choice for anyone reasonably confident with gadgets but who doesn't want the complexities of Ituens et al.
No UK price yet but it's a replacement for the £150 and £200 models so I expect to be around that sort of pricepoint - specs and pre release remarks are around the Web.
