Sandra Shevey is a 66 year old film historian who has been archiving about Hollywood since 1968. She interviewed all the big stars of the Seventies and even some from previous eras. Her love and knowledge of film is reflected in the extent of the archive which numbers over 300 major megastar interviews with among others Alfred Hitchcock, John Lennon, Richard Harris, Jane Russell, Jack Lemmon, Joan Blondell, Lillian Burns Sidney (MGM drama coach/talent scout), and others.
Sandra currenty lectures about cinema in London at the NPG, the Barbican Cinema, and the Westminster arts reference library where she also curates exhibitions.
A BFI Associate Tutor, she runs walking tours around London film locations of Alfred Hitchcock, Mike Leigh, 60s Films and others.
Whilst many commercial establishments are attempting to pass themselves off as repositories for the Alfred Hitchcock archives, Sandra in fact has a great deal of memorabilia donated not just from the director but his set designers, collaborators and writers.
She also has letters and memorabilia relevant to Marilyn Monroe, Frances Marion, Joan Blondell, Lillian Burns, Ida Lupino, Dorothy Arzner, John Lennon, Irvin Kershner and others.
Sandra wants to curate and run the museum until she passes. All serious offers to her at [log in to unmask]
