The 5th Experimental Archaeology Conference
The University of Reading, Saturday January 8th-Sunday January 9th 2011
Meeting theme: Experimental Archaeology: Developing Scientific Approaches
Format:
Saturday: Research paper presentations (20 minutes + 5 minutes for questions, with 30 minutes for discussion at the end of the morning and afternoon sessions)
Call for Papers: Please submit a paper title and short abstract (200 words) by email (to [log in to unmask]) by 30th June 2010.
Sunday: Experimental materials workshop (an opportunity to present, examine and discuss materials deriving from experimental archaeological research (e.g. metalworking artefacts and residues, soil/sediment micromorphology slides from experimental hut floors, lithic artefacts from transport/trampling experiments: with other suggestions very welcome), during a series of individual sessions throughout the day). Please contact Wei Chu ([log in to unmask]) if you have a proposal for a session within the Sunday workshop, or have materials which you would like to present during the workshop.
Accommodation Details: Saturday night accommodation is available at the University's Windsor Hall. Rooms include a basin, with shared bathrooms. Saturday night accommodation (including breakfast) and Saturday evening dinner costs are included in the full 2-day conference package.
Costs: The full conference package (two day meeting with lunches & teas/coffees, Saturday night dinner and accommodation) will cost £100. There will be reduced day delegate rates of £45 for both days, and £25 for one day.
