Statistical Developer, up to circa 45K Plus Benefits, London
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Statistical Developer to join a well known and respected data consultancy based in London.
Role and Responsibilities
• Statistical Analysis and Data Mining of company data sources
• Segmentation of individuals, local areas and other entities
• Development of multivariate and other models of consumer behaviour and attitudes
• To help identify how technical solutions solve real-world problems
• To suggest and implement improvements to existing solutions
• To effectively communicate the results of analysis to non-technical staff, including the ability to produce clear written reports and documentation.
• To participate in the development of commercial product solutions together with non-technical staff from the earliest stages - brainstorming sessions, market assessment etc.
• To suggest and develop ideas for new products and solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a good degree in a numerate subject, and a high degree in a numerate subject would be highly desirable (MSc Statistics or Mathematics or similar).
Experience
• The role requires a minimum of 2 years postgraduate or industry statistical experience, preferably using the SAS system.
• SAS: A high level of current competence in SAS programming and statistical analysis.
• Methods: experience of multivariate statistical and/or data mining methods.
• The ability to build effective, creative and robust solutions.
• Microsoft Office
• The ability to communicate the results of technical work clearly and effectively to non-technical staff. The ability to write clear reports and documentation is particularly important.
• An effective ‘internal client’ focus. The ability to keep in perspective the balance between the technical aspects of the work and the needs of the commercial users.
• The ability to effectively manage their own time and project schedules.
• SPSS
• Any experience of Oracle databases
• Optimisation methods
• Experience of both UNIX and Windows operating systems
