AGNES NEDREGARD
PILGRIMAGE OF THE FOOL
Friday 2nd - Saturday 3rd July 2010
Undertake a pilgrimage with the Fool.
Join us on Saturday 3rd July, to welcome the Fool to the city of Lincoln, at 1:00pm, Stonebow Archway, High Street, Lincoln (opposite Natwest Bank) and be part of the final leg of her pilgrimage towards Lincoln Cathedral.
Launching a new season of activity in Lincoln throughout July - Dec 2010, the Lincoln Art Programme has commissioned Norwegian artist Agnes Nedregard to create a new work that responds to Lincolns historical heritage. Agnes has responded by undertaking a 2-day pilgrimage walking across the Lincolnshire countryside to the cities most historical landmark, Lincoln Cathedral.
Agnes will undertake the character of a medieval Fool and will walk along a section of the historical Viking Way route, which at 147 miles runs through the middle of Lincolnshire. Starting in the town of Woodhall Spa on Friday morning the Fool will make her way West, walking through the villages of Bardney and Fiskerton, and arriving at Stonebow Archway at 1:00pm on Saturday 3rd.
You are invited to join the Fool for the final stage of her journey, meeting her at the Stonebow Archway on Lincoln High St, on Saturday 1:00pm, and witnessing the climatic ending to the Fools journey which will take place in the Cathedral grounds.
In addition to joining the Fool at Stonebow Archway, you are welcome to join her for longer sections of the pilgrimage, at the various villages the Fool will pass through on her way to Lincoln.
