Dear Toyin,
You said: "I wonder if a Christian Cabbalist would 'use' the Qlipoth in magical working since they are likely to be seen as demonic, being the obverse of the Sefiroth. The corresponding forms of the Sefirothic angels in the Qlipothic spheres would then be understood as demonic forms."
Maybe 17th century Christian Cabalists didn't use the qlippoth in their magic. However they probably wrote about them, as nineteenth and twentieth century magicians do use the qlippoth. I'm primarily interested in how the idea of the qlippoth entered, or re-entered, nineteenth and twentieth century magic. Like you said, Dion Fortune and the Dragon Rouge incorporate the qlippoth in their teachings. Through who did they get their information on the qlippoth? I think that Rosenroth's "Kabbala Denudata" and Mather's translation played an important part.
Regards,
Guido
