Dear list,
I have seen someone for an overseas travel medical today who suffers
with severe (epipen carrying) nut and seafood allergies. He is posted
to Singapore for two weeks and I am concerned that he will find it very
difficult to avoid nuts (ground nut oil is used for cooking I believe)
and seafood for which Singapore is renowned. He is very knowledgeable
about what to avoid and keen to go. I have advised him to let his
colleagues know of his allergies and carry his epipen and am awaiting a
reponse from our travel health adviser but does anyone have any
thoughts on this issue or if there is anything else we should do?
Thanks in advance
Louise
