Are you thinking of stopping your clinical trial early because its looking like the data is showing little or no benefit ?
Do you want to save resources for a trial which has a higher chance of success ?
More importantly, DO YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW TO DO THIS in a statistically robust way which is acceptable to Regulatory AUthorities ?
Course : Futility Analysis Made Simple:
For who : Statisticians working in clinical Trials
When: 9th November 2010
Where: London (November 9th) / Kensington
Duration: 1 Day
Cost: £800-00 (Industry)
£500-00 (Academic)
Are you fed up attending workshops with so much theory you wonder why you bothered ?
Oncostat - Quartesian Ltd present a new course for Futility Analysis which is designed for statisticians to develop their theory and really apply it with a simple pocket calculator!
In this course you will learn
1. The background of Futility Analysis and its development
2. Its Application in Phase II and III trials - in both Oncology and Non Oncology Settings
3. Conditional Power Calculations - Practical examples with SAS code to execute - but the idea is that a pocket calculator along with some statistical tables will be sufficient.
4. Very Detailed examples on how to apply all the equations and theory to a variety of clinical endpoints - There will be no equation or symbol that you will not understand after doing this course !
5. The FDA / EMEA attitude to conditional power / StochasticCurtailment / Futility Analysis Approaches
6. Bayesian Predictive Power and worked out examples on how to calculate it in order to stop a trial
7. Difference between Bayesian Predictive Power and the Conditional Power - which is more useful and when ?
At the end of this 1 day course you will be able to determine whether you trial is futile based on some interim data ; you will learn the benefits and the pitfalls of using conditional power as well as how to avoid them. The course does not necessarily require a detailed knowledge of statistical theory - as this will be broken down and thoroughly explained in the course.
Book early as places are limited to only 30 people for the course in November. To request an application form / reservation form email me on: [log in to unmask]
