Brilliant. In order to further protect the 'universality of the game' the ball should be replaced with a squashed tin can, the public should be allowed to watch champions' league matches for free (with jumpers for goalposts), there will inevitably be a delay while some junkie wanders across the goalmouth and the players will have to clear any dog poo off the pitch before the match can start.
And the game cannot end if there is a penalty to be taken (especially if it's double maths straight after).
