While I agree with you regarding the politics of aid Margo, if you do not
believe in the claims and the rights of the Palestinians already, it is unlikely
that another investigation will somehow convince you. For example, the Goldstone
Report regarding the 2008 Israeli invasion into Gaza was completely dismissed by
most of the Israeli public and the government, even though the report found
faults with both sides.
If people like Thomas think that in saying this I am regurgitating Palestinian
propaganda and displaying *antisemitic racism in public*, I do not care anymore.
I do know the difference between disliking the follower of a religion versus
disliking the person.

I think it's important to be mindful of the politics and power behind the trope
"humanitarian aid" especially in cases of territorial conflict. As I found in
Sri Lanka, whether it was ongoing humanitarian assistance from UNICEF or relief
for the tsunami disaster, political actors of all kinds, as well as advocacy
organizations, capitalized in various ways on being seen to give and to receive
aid. I'm eager to see what the various investigations will uncover once they
get underway.
