Yes. But let's not complain too much. My son's IQ was measured at 53 on
autism spectrum (so how to measure with verbal skills so poor I keep
asking--no answers from "professionals" who, as you know very well, know
nothing, so why be hurt by them?--no way his intelligence is that low--he
GETS everything but can't express through language and obviously poetry is
beyond his scope as are most things--I just want him to live--let's get down
to basics sometimes and stop the victim game which is part of Western
culture and I've grown weary of the whole thing--people fighting the wrong
fight--sorry but there are bigger fights to fight than our own hurt
feelings) and this caused suicidal move into anorexia ("Mom, I can't do
anything. I have no reason to live."--I am not speaking as a victim--I am
telling you my 17 year old son was trying to kill himself but didn't know
how else to do it except through self-starvation)--OCD part of anorexia
otherwise I swear I would never put
my child on a drug--I swear i hate drugs due to cancer and how it caused a
second cancer in me and so many friends dead from chemo but my son was dying
and it was from obsession with food, water--wouldn't eat or drink--he wants
to die---LAMICTAL (DON"T TAKE IT!!!!!!!--if you hate this email please at
least take this bit of advice from me--please) caused this drug reaction
which landed my son who has been given so little in ICU--look up Stevens
Johnson's syndrome--that only covers 30% of body--he has TEN--he could die
from this--he now has an infection--extremely dangerous--not a drop of
poetry here--if you are bored with what I write, I write in support of
Alison to be on this list as the voice of another woman as I sit here. To be
called a freak and yet have the intelligence to somehow survive---- to be
able to at least be entertained by your own mind is nothing to complain
about--you are blessed to have a mind which brings you things to work
with--that is the greatest gift who cares if someone hurt you because you
are intelligence--that guy is jealous--don't you see? You are blessed to be
considered highly intelligent. Don't say it is a damning insult. Don't say
you are an inhuman freak. He didn't mean it that way. He was shocked you
see. Get over your fear and keep writing and feel blessed that you are able
to write on a poetics list. Please do not read any hostility into this--just
know you are blessed. PLEASE.
