I have been away and just come back to trundle through more posts than
is healthy for my eyesight.
Don't want to add much - I don't like people being thrown off lists,
even when it is so understandable. Free speech in forums such as this
is vital. Yes, sometimes that gets abused. When Desmond came onto this
list I knew something like this would happen eventually. I crossed
swords with Swords' provocation before and referred to his posts as
idiocy, until I learnt to ignore him - something he himself made very
easy by rambling on so much - a simple delete. It was obvious that
this was someone with 'issues'. I suspect his presence here has not
helped him either. I admit though, there is a limit to toleration, so
although I don't agree with the call for his banning I certainly
understand it. I like lists to be lively and they tend to be lively
when there is disagreement, but the thing with Desmond is not about
'disagreement', or even rudeness and nastiness, it's deeper than that.
That's all really.
