** High Priority **
Good afternoon,
MONDAY JUNE 14th: MLAG SEMINAR AT THE NATIONAL GALLERY
MLAG (Museum Librarians & Archivists Group) is committed to nurturing partnership working as a means to improve service to users and achieve better value for money. But where should we focus our collaborative effort? And what are the prerequisites for success?
The MLAG Events and Training “Moving Forwards” group has organised a seminar to look at these questions. Guest speakers Ben Taplin, Collections Manager at JISC Collections, Dr Jane Winters of Connected Histories and Lucy Reid of CHILL (Consortium of Independent Health Information Libraries in London) will discuss their own experience of partnership working and what makes for success.
Then it will be your turn - a chance for MLAG members to discuss the conditions necessary in order to extend our own partnership - and to suggest some initiatives. We want the outcome to be a shortlist of realistic ideas for MLAG leaders to consider taking forward.
We hope for a good attendance from staff working for museum libraries or archives and anyone else who feels they have a contribution to make to the debate - but do be ready to take active part in discussion. If you fit the description, please come! To book a place, please contact Elspeth Hector at the National Gallery: [log in to unmask] .
See you there,
Richard
