It would be very good to have more music papers and sessions at annual
RSA meetings, and I would like to reach as many potential participants as
possible with this call.
CALL FOR PAPERS
The next annual meeting of the Renaissance Society of America will take
place in Montreal, 24-26 March 2011. The call for papers is now open. As
RSA representative for Music, it's my job to field a certain number of
sessions for the Montreal meeting; these can be all-music panels, or
interdisciplinary sessions that feature at least one music paper. The
RSA's chronological span is broad, and papers on anything from 1400-1700 are
welcome, as are those on contemporary approaches to the Renaissance (whether
in the classroom or in more general culture). If you would like to submit a
proposal or panel through me, or would like help assembling a panel, please
let me know ([log in to unmask]). Panels work best with 3 papers, but you can
also construct a double panel of 6 papers if that's preferable. There is a
150 word limit for abstracts.
If you'd like me to submit your proposal, I need to have your materials
before 20 May. Final deadline for proposals through the RSA website is 23
May.
With best wishes, Jeanice Brooks
