Hi
My notes on the JAVA_HOME environment variable say that it is not persistent so you have to make sure you set it when you are about to use it. I don't know if that is any help to you. It is case sensitive too so make sure you tell it the exact folder name including capital and lower case letters.

System - Windows 2003 server.
I've installed the Java JRE and created the JAVA_HOME Environment Variable and pointed it to the Java bin directory. I've also installed the Tomcat v6 server and tested the Tomcat (http://localhost:8080) webpage and everything works fine. However, I'm trying to install the Shibboleth IDP using the install.bat file but nothing happens. I've seen on the forums that you need to create the JAVA_HOME Environment Variable, which I've done, but still no luck! Can anybody point me in the right direction as to where I'm going wrong?
Thanks in advance
Albert

Where did you get that from? I'd be interested to look at it...
The places I'd recommend starting to look at https://spaces.internet2.edu/display/SHIB2/IdPInstall and http://www.ukfederation.org.uk/content/Documents/Setup2IdP and they only talk about Tomcat (/Apache/Weblogic) only or Tomcat + Apache.
