ARLIS: The Next Generation

ARLIS UK & Ireland Annual Conference,

 University of Edinburgh

14th - 16th July 2010

**Early booking rate closes on Tuesday 1st June! **

Join ARLIS in July 2010 when the annual conference will be held at the recently opened John McIntyre Conference Centre<http://www.edinburghfirst.co.uk/venues/john-mcintyre-conference-centre>, at the University of Edinburgh's Pollock Halls. The campus is situated close to the city centre at the foot of Edinburgh's spectacular natural landmark, Arthur's Seat.

The full programme<http://www.arlis.org.uk/documents/events/arlis_conference_2010_draft_programme.pdf> will examine the future of art librarianship and will include presentations looking at the increasing use of social media, new projects concerning digital resources and collections, and artists' increasing use of archive and library material in their work. A wide range of breakout sessions will cover topics such as securing funding, putting preservation policies into practice, and online digital resources for students. Visits to diverse Edinburgh institutions such as the Scottish Poetry Library, the Scottish Parliament and the National Library of Scotland will also be available.

Visits and Breakout Sessions
The choice of breakout sessions<http://www.arlis.org.uk/documents/events/arlis_conference_2010_breakout_sessions.pdf> and visits<http://www.arlis.org.uk/documents/events/arlis_conference_2010_visits.pdf> are available on the website. Once delegates have had their booking confirmed, they will be contacted and asked to indicate their preferences.

Additional Accommodation
For those delegates who wish to book pre-conference accommodation at Pollock Halls (or wish to stay on once the conference ends), please contact Edinburgh First either by email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or phone 0131 651 2007. Please state you are attending the conference (quoting event number 67358) when booking extra accommodation, this way Edinburgh First will try to allocate one of the pre-booked rooms and avoid delegates having to change rooms once the conference begins (or ends). The rooms booked for the conference are in Chancellor's Court at Pollock Halls (see the Image Gallery<http://www.edinburghfirst.co.uk/for-accommodation/pollock-halls> on the website for sneak preview)

Alternatively, a vast choice of accommodation in hotels, guest houses and B&Bs are also available at VisitScotland.com<http://www.visitscotland.com/shop/accommodation/book-edinburgh/>

See the ARLIS UK & Ireland http://www.arlis.org.uk<http://www.arlis.org.uk/> website for booking<http://www.arlis.org.uk/documents/events/arlis_conference_2010_booking_form.pdf> information and regular updates.

We look forward to seeing you there!
