Help Needed
A country in Africa called Botswana is going through interesting times. It's political landscape is undergoing tremendous transformation. A new political party has been formed – Botswana Movement for Democracy. I am trying to influence this party to give people with disabilities a significant role to play in line with the model used by the Youth League and Woman’s League.
My motivation is that people with disabilities do not play any significant role in Botswana’s politics. I believe that as political parties design and debate policies, different interests (including disabled people) are better placed to represent themselves.
The main task, however, is to give my colleagues convincing reasons justifying such a proposal, as well as stating the role people with disabilities will play in the party.
I have some thoughts, but I thought I should ask for ideas from list members. I would highly appreciate your input in this regard.
Thank you
Tlamelo
