===== LAST REMINDER =====
We would like to remind you of the following ISKO UK afternoon event:
"SEEING IS BELIEVING: NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE"
DATE: Wednesday 9 June 2010, 13.30-19.00
VENUE: University College London
FEE: £ 20 (ISKO members and students FREE)
BOOKING: <http://www.iskouk.org/cultural_heritage_jun2010.htm>
Access to cultural heritage collections and information is a hot topic
with the public and even with some politicians. Information
professionals in museums, galleries and libraries, including managers of
virtual collections on the Internet, now have the opportunity (as well
as the obligation) to harness technology and bring our cultural assets
to the people. Conversely, opportunities are expanding for the public to
participate in curation through tagging, crowdsourcing and contribution
of their own content.
David Arnold, Andy Hudson-Smith, Melissa Terras and Fiona Romeo will
talk about current research on 3D documentation, work with texts,
archives, objects and museum collections. Speakers will address both
theoretical and implementation standpoints and will look at a variety of
approaches to the material including Web 2.0 solutions. Sascha Curzon
from Gallery Systems will give a short presentation about their eMuseum
Network project.
This ISKO UK open meeting is organized in cooperation with the UCL
Department for Information Studies and refreshments are kindly sponsored
by Gallery Systems.

We look forward to seeing you on 9 June!
