Dear All
I very much regret that having said I can attend the meeting on 2nd June, I now can't. We have a new Vice Chancellor beginning in June and he has requested that he meet all staff in the Faculty of Arts on that day. It is very unfortunate but I need to be there. I will, of course, check what our position here is and send any information that may be useful.

Subject: Research Active Debate: Meeting June 2nd
Dear All
The pattern of responses to dates and places for this meeting indicate that June 2nd in London is best for most members across the country. Independent Dance, via Gill Clark (Laban/Independent Dance), has offered a room for the meeting at the Siobhan Davies Studios, 85 St George's Road, London, SE1 6ER, UK.
The meeting will take place at 2pm - the room is booked to 5pm. There is a very nice outside area, and an inside room if wet, where we could gather for lunch at around 1.15pm.
Could you let Sarah Rubidge know if you will be attending. (Send via [log in to unmask] so a) Gill and I, and b) others will know if you are attending. It is always good to meet colleagues outside of our own environment! This way you will know who you might be meeting.
Could you come prepared with some idea of what your university accepts as being research active (as distinct from scholarship)? As noted in my early emails - in some areas there are moves to tightening up the distinction so that only REF-able entries are considered relevant as criteria.
So ..... I look forward to seeing you all at the Siobhan Daveis Studios. Directions can be accessed on http://www.siobhandavies.com/studios/utilities/contact/directions.html.
If you have colleagues who would like to attend please let them know of the meeting.
Yours
Sarah Rubidge
