Discovering Interactive Design Summer School Course 2010.
This credit-bearing course offers a highly practical and insightful introduction to interaction design. You will experience a whole range of user issues and how interactive systems can be designed to ensure usability and accessibility, covering state-of-the-art technologies, research from Middlesex and Cambridge Universities. You will be taught to create your own, well designed weblogs or websites.
The course is based at the Hendon Campus of Middlesex University, London. The course lasts four weeks, from July 5th to July 29th, 10am to 3pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The Course Leader is Dr Ray Adams who has an international reputation in this field. He is Centre Head of CIRCUA (Collaborative International Research Centre for Universal Access) at Middlesex University and a member of Churchill College, Cambridge. Successful participants will be offered membership of CIRCUA, an invitation only research centre.
For this course, we will be using: (a) Adams, R. (2005). "Natural computing and interactive system design". London: Pearson and (b) Adams, R. (2009). Prequel: Cognitive science meets computing science. CIRCUA; London. ISBN: 978-1-85924-305-3.
