Thanks for clearing that up.
The Liberal Democrats and Green party have worked incredibly hard in the
local area putting out very useful and intelligent literature about
their campaigns (as I'm sure they've worked hard in other
constituencies) and I wondered if this literature is being collected by
any Archive?

I wasn't aware that postings to the list should be either non-political,
unbiased or provide a balanced view - I thought they just had to be
about archives. Elizabeth made the list aware of something referred to
by the Conservative Party: this doesn't then give her or anyone else an
obligation to update us on the views of other parties (by the way there
are more than three). Should anyone wish to do so, feel free.

It is currently the middle of an election and as such I get bombarded
with the non opinions of political parties on a regular basis, one from
a particular brand of political party that says it is aware of certain
things in the archive world because they have read a ARA press release
is no different. The original post made no mention of Labour policy or
that of any other party so its obviously going to have some bias,
whether intentional or not (a 2nd email saying oh by the way I'm aware
of what Labour say and the Lib Dems don't say is also not impartial).
Lots of local government activity decides to stay away from mentioning
party opinions during an election because it wishes/needs to stay
unbiased and I'm not sure how wanting this list to do the same equates
to putting fingers in ears.
