The International Conference of Systems Biology will take place at the IECC in Edinburgh from 11-15 October 2010 (http://www.icsb2010.org.uk/)
This meeting is supported by the GENESYS network, which will have its own workshop on 14 and 15 October.
On Friday we will have a dedicated GENESYS workshop. Having featured a host of internationally renowned speakers at the previous meetings (links to presentations and posters at www.genesys.ac.uk<http://www.genesys.ac.uk>), we want to use the 2010 meeting to feature several young scientists in this exciting area alongside invited keynote talks.
We are pleased to announce the competition for the "GENESYS young scientist travel awards' which will cover registration plus contribution towards travel and accommodation. The total value of each award will be up to £1000,-
Eligibility: The awards are targeted at young scientists, defined as PHD students or researchers in their first post-doctoral post, whose research is firmly within the scope of the GENESYS project.
Procedure: Applicants need to submit an abstract for the GENESYS workshop through the ICSB2010 &&&website<https://abstracts.congrex.com/scripts/jmevent/Abstract.asp?Client_Id='CSLG'&Project_Id='101004'&Form_Id=1&Language_Code=>. The abstract must be within the scope of the network and preference will be given to abstracts that demonstrate a clear integration between different disciplines. Applicants should include a 2-page CV and a cover letter (submitted as one document) stating how they would benefit from attending ICSB2010 and the GENESYS workshop.
The awards will be selected from the abstracts by the GENESYS organisers. Award winners are expected to attend all of ICSB where they will present a poster. They should be available to give a research talk during the GENESYS workshop on Friday 15/10.
