BOWEL CANCER: Don’t let your employees become another statistic
1 in 18 people across the UK are diagnosed with bowel cancer in their lifetime which equates to the loss of 1.5 million working days each year.
Bowel cancer kills more people every year than breast cancer however the majority of people have little or no awareness of the disease.
Beating Bowel Cancer’s Health in the Workplace initiative offers the chance to invite employees to a short 30 minute presentation providing information on the prevalence of bowel cancer, signs and symptoms, early warning signs and preventative measures people can take to reduce their risk. The presentations are given by trained members of the charity’s Patient Voices Network, the only national patient-to-patient network for bowel cancer. Patient Voices is a group of patients, or relatives of patients directly affected by the disease, who want to ‘give something back’ and raise awareness of bowel cancer.
The charity is offering all talks and back-up materials at no charge and arrangements and timings can be flexible to suit working patterns.
Talks can be booked by contacting Nicola Keeble, Health in the Workplace Coordinator at [log in to unmask] or by calling 0208 8973 0013.
