SKILLS FOR SUCCESS - How are Academic Libraries providing Study Skills Support?
The University, College and Research Group, East Midlands Section are pleased to announce a one-day event about how to support students with Study Skills needs. The seminar will be bring together practitioners who are actively involved, and provide a forum for discussion about the challenges involved and the benefits gained from those they have helped. The Leitch Review in 2006 recommended that the level of higher level skills amongst graduates should be improved in Universities. To what extent are the Study Skills services provided by Universities meeting the needs of undergraduates as well as postgraduates? Are there alternative models of delivery available? The answers to these questions will be discussed at this meeting.
By the end of the Seminar:
*You will have an understanding of a range of study skills services
*Awareness of the challenges facing LIS professionals delivering study skills
*Shared experience with practitioners
