The Science for All report also includes the action:
'develop and extend the mapping work of public engagement across a
variety of sectors including identifying the key national and regional
support systems and networks, assessing their impacts and highlighting
gaps in provision.'
This action is currently being considered and taken forward by the
Science for All Follow on Group. Any examples of mapping exercises
already carried out in the area would be gratefully received to inform
this work.
Best wishes
Isabel

Hi Tobie
I remember Kathy Sykes has given a few presentations with various
diagrams demonstrating some of the main organisations working in public
engagement - there's a presentation by her here, with some listings of
organisations working in public engagement -
http://www.britishscienceassociation.org/web/ScienceinSociety/ScienceCom
municationConference/_2006_Reportsday1.htm - an updated version would
have the Universities which are Beacons for Public Engagement in it too.
All the best

Subject: [PSCI-COM] public engagement map by institution?
hi,
the recent Science for All report has a diagram on page 7, "purposes and
motivations for public engagement".
Does anyone know of a diagram that represents the 'field' of public
engagement by institution and group?
I have a diagram from an Open University course, depicting policy and
participation with science and technology. This does a good job, but is
from 1975!
best wishes,
Tobie
