Exactly, Roger. You know I once came across an entry on the web for a real
guy (in South Africa) with that name and too a character in a detective
novel who turned out to be the who did it.
While Joseph is a traditional male name in my tribe, not David. The parish
registries around Eastwood and Langley Mill and Ollerton and Mansfield and
Newark are full of Josephs of my ilk (I was in that last named place,
Newark, on Monday and it seemed full of tall guys in broad brimmed hats who
eyed me with a suspicious look like a watchful rivalry)
