Dear Marco,
this error is due to a bad interaction between SPM5 and SPM8. Make sure
only one version is in your MATLAB path at a given time (you can use
spm_rmpath to clean it). Also, if you switch from one version to another
within the same MATLAB session, you should make a "clear all" (or at
least a "clear classes"). This is done automatically when you press the
"Quit" button in SPM.
