The Department of Systems Neuroscience at the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), Germany, is inviting applications for 1 Postdoctoral Research position and 1 postgraduate position to start during the course of this year. This full-time position is planned for an initial 2 years, with a possible extension.
The Department provides an excellent multi-disciplinary and interactive neuroimaging environment with its own physics, psychology and clinical neuroscience groups as well as a research-dedicated 3T MR scanner and a whole head MEG system.
Qualified applicants will design, prepare, and conduct f-MRI experiments, and be responsible for subsequent data analysis using SPM. The applicant will join an active multidisciplinary research group working on pain and headache and their modulation (reduction) with a view to improving current therapy of chronic pain. Topics are chronification, sensitisation and modelling of pain. Methods used will include cerebral and spinal fMRI, modelling and pharmacology.
The position is planned for 2-3 years. We look for highly motivated post docs/postgraduates with a strong interest in Systems Neuroscience. A degree in neuroscience, physics, biology, psychology, or related fields is required. Experience in programming is of significant advantage.
