PhD Student Positions at the Physics Department, Basel University,
Switzerland
Two PhD student positions are available at Basel University in the field
of astrophysics in the framework of the European Science Foundation
EuroGENESIS network "Cosmic dust as a diagnostic for massive stars". The
research topics will be on the study of the astrochemistry of supernova,
with an emphasis on theoretical modelling of the physics and chemistry
of supernova ejecta and supernova remnants. Each position has 3 years
duration. An international and interactive research environment within
the ESF network will be provided to the students. Eligible candidates
must have obtained a Master degree in exact science with excellent
results during their studies. Applications are encouraged from
candidates of any nationality but a good command of the English language
is required. The position starting date will be flexible from immediate
to September 2010.
