Postdoctoral Position
Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Grenoble (LAOG, France)
A postdoctoral position in high energy astrophysics is available at the
Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Grenoble (LAOG, France) starting in fall
2010.
The postdoc will join a team studying compact binaries, with an emphasis
on high energy gamma-ray emission with Fermi and HESS. The candidate
will be expected to join in this effort, observationally or
theoretically, and to pursue independent research on related topics
(AGNs, GRBs...). A PhD is required, preferably in astrophysics or
astroparticle physics.
In addition to their CV and publication list, applicants should send in
a brief statement of research interests and should arrange for
recommendation letters to be sent directly to Guillaume.Dubus (at)
obs.ujf-grenoble.fr . Applications will be reviewed in May and continue
until the position is filled. The appointment is expected to last two
years, subject to satisfactory performance. LAOG is a lab with groups in
high energy astrophysics (particle acceleration, X-ray binaries, AGN,
GRB, transport in disks), stellar formation, molecular astronomy and
high-angular resolution instrumentation. Grenoble is a university town
located in the French Alps.
Informal contacts and enquiries are welcomed (see
http://www-laog.obs.ujf-grenoble.fr/~gdubus/Position.html).
