One thing: I would suggest that 'Sweeney Agonistes' follows on from 'The
Waste Land' very distinctly. A friend of Eliot's called it something like
'an Ode to Dr Crippen' which does catch cettain of its qualities,
unfortunately its also a tour-de-force and way above Eliot's other dramatic
writing. I think the Coriolan poems, which of course are a kind of
fascinated look at a fascist strong man in distress, are again descendants,
unfortunately and brilliantly too.
