Hi all
Here are details of two new publications which may be of interest.
Psychology forms a key component of mental health curricula, across a
range of disciplines.
1) A Core Curriculum for Psychology in Undergraduate Medical Education
Behavioural and social sciences (B&SS) are relevant to medicine because
they can improve understanding of patients' health and illness
decision-making and the presentation of symptoms. There are many
barriers, attitudinal and conceptual, that have prevented better use of
the B&SS in medical education to date. This report used a novel
methodology to achieve consensus from medical, education and psychology
specialists within and outside the UK regarding key psychology topics. A
range of core and applied British Psychological Society (BPS) curriculum
topics are recommended for inclusion in undergraduate medical curricula.
(2) Teaching Psychology in Higher Education
This is the first book to address the learning and teaching issues
associated with psychology in Higher Education in the UK and Europe
* Presents effective, evidence-based practice and advice for both
experienced and new lecturers
* Covers challenging areas of psychology teaching, such as research
methods and statistics, supervision of research projects and management
of online learning
* Relevant for European Universities aligning with the Bologna
Declaration
Best wishes,
