Technical programme and registration now online for the 128th Audio Engineering Society Convention, May 22-25 London
---------------------
For the first time in over 20 years, the AES European Convention, will take place at the Novotel London West Convention Centre from May 22-25. The AES announces that the technical programme and registration are now available online at http://www.aes.org/events/128/.
The Novotel London West Convention Centre is conveniently located just off the A4 between Heathrow Airport and Central London, and with easy access via the Piccadilly tube (Hammersmith). The Novotel is also the official convention hotel.

TECHNICAL PROGRAM
A strong and extensive technical programme of sessions are planned, including nearly 200 papers in 16 lecture sessions, and an additional 10 poster sessions- a record number. These in-depth topics to be explored will range from audio for broadcast,
Topics to be covered include: high-performance audio processing; sound reinforcement; spatial signal processing; games audio; recording and post-production;loudspeakers and headphones; music analysis and processing; audio information retrieval; room and architectural acoustics; network, Internet, and broadcast audio; noise reduction and speech intelligibility; spatial audio perception; multichannel and spatial audio; audio coding and compression; microphones, converters, and amplifiers; innovative applications; listening tests and evaluation psychoacoustics.
The Technical Programme also includes over 20 tutorials, workshops and broadcast and special events. They will be devoted to topics such as Blu-ray as a high-resolution audio format, semantic audio, hearing conservation, and digital microphones. Technical tours may include visits to BBC studios, the British Library Sound Archive, EMI Archives, the National Theatre, and Royal Festival Hall, and others. In conjunction with APRS, there will also be panel sessions featuring high profile record producers and studio owners.
The convention will be also arranged so that the exhibits and technical program sessions are close together and complement each other.
Go to www.aes.org/events/128/program for an up-to-date schedule of all events.

EXHIBITS
The London Exhibit Hall is enthusiastically filling fast, and there are only a few exhibitor spaces left. Exhibitors from countries around the globe - over 70 exhibitors from large to boutique firms - will have new products and technologies to introduce at the show. Many companies will also present in-depth product information in exhibitor seminars, which are held off the exhibition floor in classroom-like settings.
SPECIAL EVENTS, STUDENT ACTIVITIES, AND MEETINGS
Student and educational events-student recording competitions, the Education Fair, the Careers Fair, and mentoring sessions-have in recent years become major components of AES conventions. This fast-growing segment of AES membership brings youthful enthusiasm to everyone they come into contact with during the convention, and they will form the foundation of the Society in the coming years. For more details go to www.aes.org/events/128/students.

The Standards Committee will oversee important work on AES Standards during a busy schedule of meetings before and during the convention. Go to www.aes.org/standards for the schedule of meetings. The AES Technical Council has a full schedule of AES Technical Committee meetings planned; for more information go to www.aes.org/technical.
The Technical Council will sponsor the 22nd Heyser Memorial Lecture to be given at the 128th by Brian Moore of Cambridge University. He will discuss hearing loss and hearing aids.

Additional details on the exhibits, technical programme, and registration are available now on the AES website. Advance registration for the full program and exhibition is offered at a reduced fee. You can reserve your hotel room using the PDF form on the website. Make sure to mention AES in any communication with the hotel. Book your room today at www.aes.org/events/128/hotels/
