They'll be captured by nhs.net I suspect anyway.
I still use relay.nhs.uk port 25
You need to be set up on it, now, but nothing stops you asking for this.
I do not think it is logical to handle login details for a service
restricted to access from inside NHS Net with a SMTP server that is
outside NHS Net.

I think it would be correct, since you are submitting SMTP mail, rather
than, like me, forwarding it - port 25. (RFC 2476 I think:

You need to authenticate.
I think 2476 demands it or at least it is regarded as a good thing.

Run your own mail server, and use the NHS SMTP forwarding service as the
smarthost.
