Can I please thank you all for this flurry of pointless emails.
Please can I ask you accept a number of points
1: this is a public mailing list
2: everyone who posts to it sends to all listed recipients - that is what a
public mailing list is
3: this is NOT solely a job vacancy list - although the majority of posts
are such postings
4: it is a minor issue if people want to post their CVs and while I find it
slightly irritating it does not cause me particular issues because that is
the 'price' of having my name on this list and, overall this price is worth
the benefits - and I REALLY appreciate this service
5: it may be considered by some that to post personal details to an open
list - but that is up to them
6: if 4: does cause you problems and, by implication, 5: does not apply to
you then simply unsubscribe
The only problems that I can recall with this regard about this FREE SERVICE
are being created by those who want something else. Good for them - go and
register somewhere else.
So PLEASE unsubscribe or let this be.
Thank you

This is a public mailing list, the concept of which is that once you
subscribe to the list you will receive whatever someone else sends to
the list.
The list policy clearly says "anyone can subscribe and contribute by
posting messages about job vacancies in GIS related fields. Very short
messages from those seeking jobs are acceptable."

Anyone who is not happy with this policy can unsubscribe on
https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A0=gis-jobs
I think this is quite straightforward.
Regards
Karl
