Dear All,
This went out on Geo-Tectonics but I think it is of
sufficient interest to geophysicists to go out on
our list too.

The following might interest Geotectonics subscribers - especially those wanting to find out can be got out of high quality seismic datasets.....
Frontiers of Seismic Geomorphology
1st June 2010.
This announcement is to advertise a one-day “showcase” meeting at the Geological Society (Burlington House London) that celebrates subsurface and seabed imaging from 3D seismic data. Topics include: submarine channel systems, mass wasting processes, tectonic sub-seascapes, glacial processes, lava sequences, palaeokarsts and much more. Speakers are: Zoltan Sylvester (Shell); Ian Clark (University of Cardiff); Carl Fredrik Forsberg (Norwegian Geotechnical Institute); Russell Wynn ( NOC, Southampton); Jenny Collier (Imperial College); Mads Huuse (University of Manchester); Nick Schofield (University of Aberdeen); Dave Hunt (Statoil) and a keynote presentation by Henry Posamentier (Chevron).
A selection of the imagery will appear through May on the Virtual Seismic Atlas.
Thanks to generous sponsorship by Statoil, BP and Chevron, the meeting has a knock-down registration rate of 10 GBP (students); 20 GBP (GS fellows) and 30 GBP others.
Further details and registration forms are available online at:

Hope to see you in London.
Best wishes
