The Social Policy Research Centre (SPRC) is seeking to appoint one or more capable, experienced and energetic researchers as Research Associates. The purpose of these positions is to undertake a range of high-level quantitative research tasks. An example of one project is to evaluate equity in the Australian tax-benefit system, over time, and in international comparisons through the development of a microsimulation model of the Australian tax-benefit system and to use the model to examine changes in the tax-benefit treatment of different family groups over time. Other projects include the management of small quantitative research projects and/or to take responsibility for the statistical design and analysis components of larger SPRC research and evaluation projects. Research Associates may be required to work on more than one project in the same period.
The positions will require participation in, or the overseeing of, the design of project data requirements together with data manipulation and statistical analysis. The incumbents will be engaged in all aspects of the research, including conceptualisation, design, data collection and analysis and publication of articles in scholarly journals.
These are fixed term, full-time positions available until 30th June 2013.
Applicants must systematically address the selection criteria in their application.
