Lancaster Disability Studies Conference
7th-9th September 2010
Final call for papers for the 2010 Disability Studies Conference (closing date 30th April)
The Lancaster disability studies conferences have brought together researchers, practitioners, policy makers and activists from around the world, to share and debate research, ideas and developments in disability studies.
We invite the submission of abstracts for either symposium, paper or poster presentations on current research, ideas and developments in disability studies. In particular the reviewing committee would welcome submissions in the following areas:
Political change - global, national and local
War, conflict and the construction of disability
Access to health care
Debates about eugenics and assisted dying
Independent living, rights and citizenship
Culture, history and arts
Theoretical and methodological ideas and debates
The reviewing committee would also welcome abstracts for poster presentations about the work of organisations, networks and groups which are related to disability studies. he closing date for submission of abstracts will be 30th April 2010. Submissions are particularly welcome from students, activists and first time presenters. Abstracts should be submitted at http://www.disabilitystudies.net/conference/submitabstract.php
