Hi Barry
In Tayside, whenever any of our three local area authorities provide
automation, as part of an ECE system installation, they take our advice of
getting quotes from the 2 ECE contractors (Possum and Steepers) and we get
them to mention to the contractors that the installation will be carried out
in collaboration with us. As long as services do not misuse either company's
good offices, regarding obtaining quotes, then this should work out OK and
is as good as coordinated procurement?
Cheers

Subject: ecs funding
Dear all
Does anyone have a robust partnership with the local authority which
reliably arranges funding for door openers etc (traditionally local
authority funded) to be procured through a health based coordinator?
A local authority has suggested to me that ecs system procurement would
be more effective if carried out by a single agency & I agree. However,
there is very little management/commissioning structure around ecs & if
I can find a precedent or a partnership that works, it would make
identifying appropriate decision makers much easier!
