The Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Statistics, Department of
Statistics, invites applications for a
*Full Professorship (W3)*
*for **Biostatistics and its Applications in Life Sciences*
commencing as soon as possible.
The successful candidate is expected to represent the entire field of
/Biostatistics /in research and teaching at the university.
Methodological research should focus on modern biostatistical modelling
and inference with particular relevance for molecular life sciences.
Emphases in applications will be in statistical genomics and proteomics,
quantitative systems biology, or molecular biomedicine.
The position is integrated in the Ludwig-Maximilians-University's new
interdisciplinary research project Analysis and Modelling of Complex
Systems financed through the LMUinnovativ programme. Biostatistical
research and application at the Munich Campus will be coordinated with
partners inside and outside of the University.
Active participation in future initiatives in research and teaching of
the Department of Statistics in cooperation with partners from the
research project, in particular from Bioinformatics, Medical Biometry
and the Gene Center is indispensable. Furthermore, support of the
Statistical Consulting Laboratory (StaBLab) is highly desired.
Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral
degree, teaching skills at university level and a post-doctoral degree
(Habilitation) or equivalent qualification that may have been gained
outside the university or may consist in a junior professorship.
Candidates for this position should be aged 52 or under at the time of
appointment. Exceptions thereto may be considered in the case of
