Subject: Re: BCS EGM Blog
I seem to have been inundated by emails on this topic today, and most of them mealy mouthed, 'political' if not sycophantic responses from people presumably used to giving in to the conventionalist bully boys that populate too many IT department nowadays: the same people that drive so many big projects to disaster after disaster. So why is the EGM motion bound to be outvoted (as one correspondent insists)? Is it because we are so used to giving in to the rich or influential or powerful? One thinks immediately of the recent Mesopotamian adventure.
Unlike the others, I haven't had an email from the BCS mandarins; perhaps the grade of Fellow isn't quite senior enough to attract their attention. However, this does suggest a tactic: mass resignation. I'm up for it. Mainly because I still believe that the SGs are the true life blood of the BCS.
Best wishes to all,
Ian
