Another unpopular point I'm afraid I can't resist making: why is writing
for money inferior to writing for the esteem of a very small group of
Important People, or to feel superior to capitalists. or to push some
political doctrine? Or even for the sheer joy of making a work of beauty?
Of course, you can take what I say with a grain of salt since I've
averaged almost $100 a year from writing, a fifth of it from poetry,
mainly the sales of two visual poems as hangable works of visual art.
