Seminar Details
Simeon is an Divisional Director within Jacobs Consultancy and is responsible for the delivery of transport planning services from the Leeds, Newcastle and Manchester offices. He joined Jacobs in 2000 and his current role includes the provision of strategic transport, land use planning and policy development advice to clients. Simeon oversees the transportation parts of the North Yorkshire County Council, Kirklees Council and Lincolnshire County Council Frameworks. Simeon is experienced in the management of multi disciplined project teams and the co-ordination of skilled resources for the effective delivery of complex and changing workloads. Consequently, he has a proven track record of delivering high profile projects within programme and budget. Simeon also has extension experience of working effectively with political and public stakeholders.
Simeon specialises in providing strategic advice focused on the prioritisation of investment in transport infrastructure and the development and implementation of transport strategies. He is experienced in the development and delivery of business cases for transport major schemes, having overseen a number of NATA based transport infrastructure appraisals and multi modal studies / strategies over the last 10 years. Simeon was also heavily involved in the development of the Highways Agency's Route Management Strategy Guidance and has subsequently advised Local Highway Authorities on how best to apply the guidance to their networks for prioritising future investments.
From a transport policy perspective, Simeon has worked in partnership with a number of Local Highway Authority clients towards the development of their Local Transport Plans for both periods 1 and 2. He has also contributed to the development of a number of emerging Local Development Frameworks, predominately Core Strategies. His scope of experience also includes preparation of planning applications related to major and minor developments, public consultation and stakeholder engagement, the coordination of Environmental Impact Assessments and preparation of Statements of Case and evidence for Public Inquiries.

The Cassie Building is building number 14 on the Campus Map (http://www.ncl.ac.uk/documents/Campus-Map-Print.pdf) and is about a 5-10 minute walk from Haymarket bus station, Haymarket or Jesmond metro stations, both of which are easily accessible from Newcastle Central station or Newcastle International Airport. The TORG seminars are intended to disseminate ongoing research and encourage detailed discussions of a diverse range of transport topics in an informal environment.
