STFC seems to worry excessively about corporate image.

Where is this cited?
STFC is behind the times. The www.starlink.rl.ac.uk address has long
since been replaced by www.starlink.ac.uk, and since November the latter
has been re-routed to the Starlink-software page at JAC. Tim has our
old web files and a selected few are used in the JAC site, like the
Bulletins.
On February 3 I mailed hostmaster requesting that traffic to this older
address and to the ancient star-www.rl.ac.uk be re-routed to
starlink.jach.hawaii.edu/starlink. However, it seems that Networks has
only redirected star-www.rl.ac.uk to JAC, leaving www.starlink.rl.ac.uk
pointing at the "The Starlink Project closed in 2005" residual site.
I'll prod hostmaster again to have www.starlink.rl.ac.uk redirected too.
Just discovered there's a starlink.rutherford.ac.uk too that needs
redirecting. Are there any more?
As to contact details, well that's a different matter. While the
currently supported packages do (or should) have modern attributions,
there are many packages that are still present but supported on a
best-efforts basis by our community. If STFC isn't prepared to fund us,
they'll have to live with some out-of-date attributions.
Then there are all the references to [log in to unmask] as a general
point of contact, whereas these should be to the Starlink or
Stardev listserves as appropriate.
Tim and I independently edited lots of documents to revise the Starlink
URLs, and these will appear in the next release. That should help
reduce the numbers of incorrect URLs found by web search engines. I
noticed for a long time that Google seemed to prefer
www.starlink.rl.ac.uk to www.starlink.ac.uk when searching for a
Starlink document. That's probably from the now corrected links in
the document prologues.
> Does anyone know its status?
This seems to be the latest version (67.70) from 2005. It's the same
as the released version at JAC

> I'm retiring at the end of next month,
That's a bombshell. Certain people like Jo Murray ask me "Has Pat
has retired yet?".

Whom do you suggest be the contact?
