Brian, I tried this on Friendfeed, and there are a few suggestions:
- blog + wiki (get the instruments to blog)... like some of the Southampton Chemists do
- Islandora... it's Fedora + Drupal with extra bits, so it's maybe a bit on the IR side, but it could be a Lab Repository (which if you have a few people and a lot of data seems to me like a GOOD THING)
- Hubzero?
- Orwik?
Can you say a bit more about the nature of the application?
