The CAQDAS Networking Project and Day Courses in Social Research at the University of Surrey
are holding the next Introductory hands-on training day for NVivo 8* on 24 March 2010.
The day consists of step by step training using a mixture of demonstration and hands-on exercises.

STEP BY STEP INTRODUCTORY HANDS-ON EXERCISES

For short to medium term use of the software we aim to help you to become comfortable concerning
-The preparation of textual data
-Importing and organising data
-Coding for themes and topics in data and subsequent retrieval of coded data and exporting information.
-Using memo and annotation tools
-Expressing visual connections between ideas using the modelling tool
FURTHER OVERVIEW DEMONSTRATIONS: Alternative data options and longer term direction

-NVivo 8's capacity for handling multimedia data with time for practice if possible
-Use of the query tool, bringing together descriptive factual information with coding to contrast and compare across subsets - using text search tools to find content.
*Software Version Note: This training is suitable for users of either NVivo7 or NVivo8.
