The Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry is a partnership of the University of Exeter, University of Plymouth and the NHS in Devon and Cornwall, and with the support of the European Union Convergence Programme in Cornwall is investing up to £14 million (capital and revenue) to establish a new and innovative research centre - the European Centre for Environment and Human Health sited in Cornwall. The focus of research will be to explore the interconnections between the environment, human health and wellbeing. This includes both environmental threats, and opportunities to use the environment to promote health and wellbeing.
Applicants for clinical and non-clinical Professorships, Senior Lectureships and Lectureships are invited in the following general areas:
* Environmental Epidemiology and Toxicology (especially emerging environmental contaminants including nanomaterials)
* Climate, Oceans and Health (with a focus on threats to coastal communities)
* Clinical Photobiology
* Promotion of health and wellbeing using the natural environment
* Environmental Psychology and Behaviour Change
* Environment and Human Health Policy
* Business, Environment and Human Health
The Centre Director will be appointed from one of the senior academic staff recruited. Applicants may have a clinical, scientific, bioinformatic, epidemiology or social science/policy background, but must be of international standing with an outstanding research and research funding track record. Associated posts will include postdoctoral fellowships and PhD studentships.
