ATLAS.ti is a software package designed to assist the researcher to handle, manage and analyse textual and multimedia qualitative data. Day Courses in Social Research at Surrey University, together with the CAQDAS Networking Project run regular hands-on events for this genre of software.
The day consists of intensive training using a mixture of demonstration and hands-on exercises. The aim is to provide an overview of the long term use of ATLAS.ti as well as get you comfortably familiarised with important short to medium term issues such as:-
Preparing textual data
Assigning documents
Coding for themes and topics in data
Basic and filtered retrieval, navigating around coded data
Organising data based on subset information or variables
Autocoding of structures in the data and content
Networks - using mapping tools to express and visualise connections
