I like this idea, very much, of laying out a historical ground.
Generally media arts is non-Oedipal which means we don't enter into
rebellion against academic research. New media arts as a term seems to
me, now that I have done enough of a lit search, as a way of laying out
a territory which enables academic critics, theorist and historians to
proceed with their undertakings and allow myself to also access this
discussion, since I have a name to search. (The triumph of logos over
techne is another story with the rebellion against the academic
obviously a homophobic economy.)
For myself, media arts will do, since that's what my academic quals says
I do. The link this has with poetry is also interesting.
So tired last night I posted this to myself, anyway, posting again...
found another article of interest ... Martin H taught sound studies when
I was at UTS. (I did honours in media arts at UTS)
