Sheila
there are some beautiful modulations in this. Best of all I thought:
in a handful of small
conversations
with just above and before:
listen to the Dutch elm
breeze shake childhood
from familiar breezes
linked by:
(one speaks of porches
my sense was of thoughts or perception half-caught, like words muffled by a
breeze, which might:
when the look of
pavement holds heat
for the duration, and a side
of affection holds still,
holds true,
holds even water
for the heart
